CONTROL OF NITROGEN COMPOUND ON FISH AQUACULTURE WITH RECIRCULATION SYSTEM. In the water nitrogen compound exists in the form of nitrogen (N2), ammonia (NH3), ammonium (NH4), nitrite (NO2) nitrate (NO3) and organic nitrogen. These nitrogen compounds usually resulted from a process of decomposition of excess food, metabolite excretion of reared animal, death body of animal/plant and might also a process of diffusion of atmospheric nitrogen.
The existence of toxic nitrogen compounds is one problem of the unsuccessful of fish culture. For this reason control to the existence of nitrogen compounds is needed. Source and toxicity of nitrogen compounds and its control are presented in this paper.
